A stabbing incident occurred in Tokyo’s Kita Ward shortly after noon on the 17th, leaving two men injured by a woman; the Metropolitan Police Department has arrested the woman at the scene on suspicion of assault.

According to reports by TBS and the Asahi Shimbun, the incident occurred in the Takinogawa 7-chome area of Tokyo’s Kita Ward, roughly 100 meters from JR Itabashi Station. Authorities received a report that a woman was brandishing a knife and had stabbed two men in the chest. NTV reported that the incident took place at a liquor store; the victims—men in their 50s and 60s—sustained stab wounds to the left chest and left leg, respectively, but neither suffered life-threatening injuries.

The Asahi Shimbun reported a witness account describing a man emerging from the ground-floor entrance of an apartment building with blood flowing from near his left chest, saying, “I’ve been stabbed.” Further inside the entrance, another man was found collapsed on the ground, with a woman dressed in black standing nearby. The witness remarked, “I pass by this spot regularly, so I was truly shocked.”

Other reports suggest the incident may stem from a dispute between relatives, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details.
